Formosan termites, known for their tremendous appetite and ability to increase colony size much quicker than other termites, are considered the most destructive termite species in the world. Although Formosans are not native to North Carolina, they were first detected on a railroad track in Brunswick County in 1992. Since then, 17 infestations of Formosans have been found in and around Rutherford County.
“Formosan termites can cause more than $1 billion in monumental destruction each year. Our goal is to prevent these silent destroyers from eating away at our homes and educate homeowners on preventative methods before it’s too late,” said Spillman. “That’s why we chose Premise. We are confident we can stop the damage fast and prevent another infestation without damaging the irreplaceable details of the structure.”
The Mayor’s home was built in the early 1920’s and during a recent routine inspection had an active Formosan termite infestation in the roof and overhead beams.
Spillman and his team from Go-Forth Extermination treated the structure with Premise Foam to rid the home of the infestation.
