NORCROSS, Ga. — For three decades, the Georgia Pest Control Association has awarded annual scholarships to members’ children. It was a way to enhance the value of being a member of GPCA and also emphasize the importance of family which has been a mainstay throughout our Association’s history. Since 1986 we have awarded 141 scholarships.   Funding for the Burnett Scholarship comes from a portion of the revenue collected at the GPCA Annual Charity Golf Tournament.

Each of the winners will receive a $1000 scholarship to use toward their college education:

Nicholas Partain son of Chuck Partain, technician, Allgood Pest Solutions

John plans to attend Georgia Tech.
“I recently used the scholarship to help cover my housing expenses. Going to GA Tech requires living in Atlanta which can be very costly, but this scholarship has immensely helped cover those expenses. With a cost of $27,000 a year at Tech, the stress of paying the expenses can get very high, but thanks to the scholarship from the Georgia Pest Control Association, that stress doesn’t have to get too out of control. Now, my hopes of pursuing electrical engineering with a degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology have become a lot clearer.”

Nathaniel Brown son of Jim Brown, Northwest Exterminating
Nathaniel plans to attend Kennesaw State University.
“Thank you very much for the GPCA Scholarship. I am grateful for the scholarship. I am registered at Kennesaw State University, and it is extremely helpful with college expenses.”
