NORCROSS, Ga. — The Georgia Pest Control Association has elected a new slate of officers for 2007-2008.
Thomas L. Buchanan, region manager for Allgood Pest Solutions, Brunswick, Ga., was elected chairman of the board. Buchanan has held various offices with GPCA and also is a graduate of GPCA’s Leadership Program.
Cliff Nipper assumes the role of president of the association. He is the owner and manager of National Termite and Pest Control, Cordele, Ga., a past Region 12 Director and a Leadership Program graduate.
Chuck Carney was elected GPCA vice president. He is the Georgia Regional Manager for Cook’s Pest Control, Atlanta. He spent twenty years in the United States Army before entering the pest control industry in 1998. Carney has been the Region 6 director and a committee co-chair before being elected to office.
Scott Eubanks, Northwestern Exterminating, Atlanta, has been elected secretary/treasurer. Eubanks also is a Leadership Program Graduate.
GPCA’s selective Leadership Program involves four, two-day sessions every other year for a limited number of participants. The committee considers a candidate’s years of experience in the industry, position in his organization, and what he does within his community when selecting leadership candidates.
Because of the Leadership Program, GPCA’s leadership team is arranged five to six years in advance.
