NORCROSS, Ga. — The Georgia Pest Control Association (GPCA) and the PestVets – 3/16 Veteran Support Group recently raised and donated $10,000 to the Veterans Empowerment Organization (VEO) in Atlanta.
The VEO offers a healing campus environment that allows veterans to rebuild their lives. Its mission is to empower veterans along their journey to self-sufficiency by offering housing, optimal wellness and workforce development.
The GA PestVets' goal is not only to help provide veterans work in the pest control industry, but also to showcase that the industry supports and contributes to veterans. Co-chairmen Xavier Cugnon and Chuck Carney said they saw the fundraiser as a great opportunity for GPCA to give back to the community.
Donations were received throughout the state during the month of March via an online food drive. The donation will help fund meals in the VEO dining hall.
