NORCROSS, Ga – The Georgia Pest Control Association announced it has been able to work with state and federal agencies to protect and promote the pest management industry through the current Covid-19 outbreak. During this outbreak, the pest management industry has been deemed as an essential service by the Department of Homeland Security.
Working with the Georgia Department of Agriculture, recent GPCA accomplishments include:
• Worked with the Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) and the Georgia Structural Pest Control Commission to have pest control/exterminating deemed an essential service in Georgia
• GDA released a temporary guidance policy regarding Structural Pest Control Technician Registrations
• GDA issued an Emergency Rule for Antimicrobial Pest Control
• GDA released additional documents regarding the use of disinfectants
GPCA thanks the Commissioner of Agriculture Gary Black, Program Director of Structural Pest of Georgia Derrick Lastinger, lobbyist with GA Link, Skin Edge and the GPCA Government/Legislative Committee for their willingness to work for the industry and their commitment to continue.
