SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Gridline, a provider of telematics and data solutions, has acquired Shell Telematics. The acquisition is intended to expand Gridline’s operational capabilities and integrate Shell Telematics customers into its existing platform.
The transaction will allow both companies to continue offering data and telematics services to fleet operators, with an emphasis on supporting ongoing shifts in fleet management, such as the adoption of renewable energy and use of data analytics.
Under the terms of the agreement, Gridline and Shell will collaborate on joint data offerings, and a non-exclusive referral arrangement will allow Shell customers to access Gridline services.
Gridline co-founders Justin Moyer and Scott Tenney stated in a press release, “This acquisition aligns with our long-term operational plans and supports the continued development of our telematics platform.”
Louis De Jong, chief revenue officer at Geotab, added, “As a partner to both Gridline and Shell, we view this agreement as an opportunity to continue supporting their customers with tools aimed at improving fleet operations.”
