ENCINITAS, Calif. — Griffin Pest Management has acquired Happy Pest Control, headquartered in Encinitas, Calif.
Happy Pest Control started in the early 90’s by Steve Coy in Pleasanton, Calif. At that time, Coy was operating multiple routes with two other technicians and the help of his family.
In 2006, his son Micah opened a branch of Happy Pest Control in San Diego. After a slow beginning, Micah Coy discovered his talent for Internet marketing and their client base grew substantially. In the spring of 2008, Happy Pest Control became incorporated and Steve Coy moved to San Diego to operate the business
Griffin Pest Management, headquartered in Santa Ana, Calif., is owned and operated by Travis Swope. Swope is also the president of the Pest Control Operators of California (PCOC). “This is an exciting opportunity for us to be able to expand our operation into San Diego County. Happy Pest Control specializes in general pest control services so this acquisition will afford us the opportunity to offer termite control to a larger market.” Swope said. “The team at Happy Pest is fantastic and we are really lucky to add them to our family. The goal over the coming weeks is to keep the transition seamless for the customers and our technicians.”
