FAIRFAX, Va. –- As part of its commitment to providing leadership development 365 days a year, the National Pest Management Association’s (NPMA) Leadership Development Group (LDG), has announced that it will sponsor a Habitat for Humanity project in conjunction with PestWorld 2011, October 19-22 in New Orleans.
“The New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) averaged a building capacity of 10 homes per year until Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Post Katrina, New Orleans Habitat has built over 425 homes. The LDG is proud to be able to be a part of NOAHH’s efforts to build and finance new, safe, affordable homes,” stated LDG Chairperson Adam Witt.
The manpower for this project will come from LDG volunteers and will take place on Tuesday, October 18th, immediately preceding PestWorld 2011.
The mission of the LDG is to upgrade the professionalism of the pest management industry by promoting access and increased involvement in NPMA; identifying, motivating and developing its emerging leaders; providing a networking opportunity; teaching skills that are applicable to your business, personal development, the community and NPMA; and facilitating the information exchange between generations of managers and owners. For information on volunteering with the LDG, please contact Dominique Stumpf at dstumpf@pestworld.org.
