HANNA CITY, Ill. — Charles Haggerty and James Haggerty, longtime leaders of American Pest Control, Hanna City, Ill., recently retired after 61 years of service to the pest control industry, and the pair were given a grand send-off on April 3.
The Haggertys began controlling pests in the 1950s, when pest control was a back-breaking, formidable challenge. At the retirement celebration at the American Pest office, Neil McNeill of Dow AgroSciences gave a history of termite treatments from the 1950s to the present. Those in attendance enjoyed looking back at Chuck’s and Jim’s careers from the perspective of how dramatically the industry changed over the course of their careers.
Distributor and manufacturer representatives, as well as employees and local friends, joined them in a brunch buffet and open house. Chuck and Jim are confident that they left American Pest Control in good position for growth and prosperity in the coming years and look forward to their retirement adventures.
