ORLANDO, Fla — Amidst the grandeur of the Grande Masque Ball on New Years Eve, at the Gaylord Palms Resort, it was announced that Harvey Massey and his wife Carol have donated $1 million to the Dr. P. Phillips Orlando Performing Arts Center. Jim Pugh, chairman of the arts center initiative and honoree at the Grande Masque, made the announcement of the Massey gift.
“We are thrilled at the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Massey, who have been community leaders in the arts and in our community for many years,” said OPAC Board President Jim Pugh. “Their gift brings us one step closer to having a world-renowned performing arts center in downtown Orlando.”
“Carol and I are proud to be able to support this remarkable and most important effort,” said Harvey Massey. “We believe passionately that a healthy and vibrant arts community positively impacts the education of our children and grand children, which, in turn improves the quality of life in our community for all residents.”
