KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Dayton Hylton, owner of Knoxville, Tenn.-based Dayton’s Pest Control, was recognized with the Alumni Award by the University of Tennessee chapter of Gamma Sigma Delta (GSD).
The award recognizes an alumnus of the Institute of Agriculture who has made an outstanding contribution, either directly or indirectly, to agriculture and related disciplines.
A Knoxville native, Hylton earned both his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Tennessee in entomology. In 1985, after gaining industry experience working with pest control companies, Hylton launched his own company, Dayton’s Pest Control. He has received recognition in the Knoxville, Tenn., area as well as nationally for the commitment and integrity with which he works in the pest management industry.
Hylton was presented the award by University of Tennessee Entomology Professor Dr. Karen Vail, who noted “Dayton reflects well on the university with his commitment to serving customers well, a life-long willing to learn and expand his skills, and his generosity in acknowledging his mentors, in mentoring his employees, and in donating to the local community.”
