GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syngenta introduces the new 6-inch Impasse® Termite Blocker, which allows homebuilders and pest management professionals (PMPs) to offer pre-construction termite protection for specific areas of new homes.
The 6-inch blocker was created to meet builder demand that surfaced in Texas and Florida markets. Builders needed efficient pre-construction termite protection for areas of the home where they were using 6-inch PVC pipes: as an exhaust vent for barbeque ranges, and for heating and cooling ducts. For both uses, the pipes go through the slab foundation.
The 6-inch blocker will be available to homebuilders and PMPs this month. “We have an open dialogue with builders, and the production of the 6-inch PVC Impasse Termite Blocker is a direct result of these conversations,” said ElRay Roper, technical representative, Syngenta. “We’re giving builders and PMPs the tools they need for their particular markets.”
Impasse Termite Blocker is a highly effective, long-term, pre-construction solution that stops termites at some of the most common entry points into the home. Ideal for residential construction, Impasse Termite Blocker protects utility penetrations and bath trap areas from termite invasion. Termites only need 1/32nd of an inch to access a house and often use gaps along pipes in the slab foundation as veritable highways into a home. Impasse Termite Blocker is the only product that specifically targets these vulnerable points, sealing long-term protection right into the foundation.
Installed by an authorized and certified pest management professional prior to the pouring of a home’s concrete slab, each Impasse Termite Blocker can be installed and tightly sealed in about one minute, so there is little interruption to the construction process. Once the concrete is poured, Impasse Termite Blockers become built in, providing an unprecedented level of termite protection.
In addition to the new 6-inch PVC blocker, Impasse Termite Blockers are available in a variety of sizes, from 3/8-inch to 5-inch, including Electrical Box and Bath Trap Blockers.
