In the findings of the study, XLure Multi-Species Beetle Traps had a mean catch efficacy of more than 80% of the population of Tribolium in the test area after 24 hours. Additionally, the study confirmed the outside slope of the trap was not too steep for Tribolium to climb. Once inside the trap, Tribolium were unable to escape. The complete test report is published on J.F.Oakes’ Web site at www.jfoakes.com.
XLure Multi-Species Beetle Floor Traps contain both pheromones and a special food attractant. Pheromones to attract Tribolium (red & confused flour beetles), Lasioderma serricorne (cigarette beetles), and Trogoderma (warehouse & khapra beetles) are loaded in each trap. The special food attractant lures all other beetles, weevils, and larvae which includes, but is not limited to, Stegobium paniceum (drug store beetles), Oryzaephilus mercator (merchant grain beetles), Oryzaephilus surinamensis (sawtoothed grain beetles), Sitophilus granaries (grain weevils), Sitophilus oryzae (rice weevils), Sitophilus zeamais (maize weevils), and Rhyzopertha dominica (lesser grain borers).
