Goddard is the State Medical Entomologist for the Mississippi State Department of Health. He is also and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the School of Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
His Physician’s Guide to Arthropods of Medical Importance published by CRC Press, recently won an award from the British Medical Association in the “Best Medical Book of the Year” competition. It is soon to be in its fifth edition and is used by physicians worldwide.
Dr. Goddard has been a visiting professor in the Department of Dermatology at the Mayo Clinic, as well as a member of a National Institutes of Health panel convened to study the future of tick taxonomy in the U.S. In 1999, he testified before Congress on the public health benefits of pesticides.
Dr. Goddard writes a regular column on medical entomology for an infectious disease journal, and has published over 140 scientific articles, five books, and three book chapters.
Additional activities slated for the June 25-27 convention include a full program of education and CEU sessions, one of the largest pest control trade shows in the country, a golf tournament, spouse and children’s programs and a Casino Night.
