SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. — Johnson Pest Control, Sevierville, Tenn., is celebrating its 30th year in business this month.
Johnson Pest Control began operations in April 1984 with one employee:  Ray A. Johnson.  Today, this homegrown firm that is operated by the husband/wife team of Ray and Tammy Johnson supports 20 families.

Over the years, Ray and Tammy have been actively involved at the community, state and national levels of business leadership.  Ray just recently served the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) as its president. Ray is a well sought after speaker on industry topics and business in general and has spoken all over the United States, in Canada, and in Dubai, UAE. Tammy is currently the President of East TN Pest Control Association and also serves on the Board for Professional Women in Pest Management with NPMA.  The couple most recently returned from Capitol Hill where they met with Congressman Phil Roe as part of NPMA Legislative Days. Ray and Tammy make this annual trek to Washington, D. C. to gather with other pest professionals to discuss current legislation affecting their industry.  During this particular trip Ray mixed business and pleasure when he was able to pick a little guitar with Rep. Roe in his D. C. office.

Johnson Pest Control has earned the distinction of becoming the first company in Tennessee to be certified by the National Pest Management Association as a QualityPro Company of Choice, including certification in QualityPro Schools and GreenPro. The company is proud to qualify for this “mark of excellence.”

“We find great pride in being the protectors of your health and property,” said Ray Johnson. “We are indebted to our hometown community who supported us through humble beginnings.  We still have a good number of customers who have been with us since we first started. In addition, the loyal and reliable work performance of our dedicated staff has been a huge factor in the success of the company. We consider our employees to be our most valuable and important asset. “
