JP McHale Pest Management announces its second annual Get Buggy with It! Bee Creative Contest. The contest is open to all Westchester high school and middle school students, who are encouraged to demonstrate a solid knowledge of insects and how they benefit the environment.
Students can refer to www.nopests.com to conduct research and gain extensive knowledge about insects. They can read through the comprehensive information in the site’s Pest Library to learn many unknown facts.
Students can choose from three entry categories:
- Creative Writing (short stories, essays, poems, etc.)
- Art (any original drawing, painting, cartoon, etc.)
- Photography (black and white or color; digital or 5x7 print)
Deadline for entries is April 22.
The grand prize winner will receive an iPod. Other prizes will include Gameboys, Webkinz and American Express gift certificates. Winning entries will be posted on www.nopests.com.
Entries may be submitted online or by mail. If sending by email, written entries should be submitted as a Word document. Art and photographs should be submitted in a .jpg format. If sending by mail, art and photographs should be secured with cardboard to prevent bending.
