TWINSBURG, OH — On Feb. 28, J.T. Eaton & Co. helped sponsor a charity event at Bill White’s Akron Lanes to benefit the Summit Country Pest Control Association’s Scholarship Fund. A-Best Termite & Pest Control, headquartered in Akron, OH, organized the event. Other sponsors included BASF, Greater Cleveland Pest Control Association, Gotcha Pest Control, Ohio Pest Management 2000, Pest Control Technology magazine, Royal Pest Control and Southern Mill Creek Products of Ohio.
Along with sponsoring two lanes, J.T. Eaton matched high men’s and high women’s scores per dollar. John Cosmo bowled a 276 and J.T. Eaton’s sales coordinator, Liz Velte, bowled a 221.
Thirty-nine bowlers participated, each of whom donated $5 to the fund. The grand total raised was $1,547.
“We hope this becomes an annual event,” says Craig Velte, sales manager for J.T. Eaton. “Everyone had a great time, and it’s for an important cause. College is out of reach for too many kids these days because of the expense, and anything we can do to help defray the costs is a good thing.”
The association will award two $1,000 college scholarships at an upcoming meeting.
