“It is certainly no coincidence that BASF Specialty Products Department has tapped an individual with a long and storied connection to Fipronil to lead its Professional Pest Control group,” said Paul Rea, Director, BASF Specialty Products Department. “Previously the Global Strategic Marketing Manager for the Fipronil insecticide franchise, Holmes brings a wealth of experience that will help lead the pest control business into new market opportunities and continued growth.”
Holmes has worked extensively with Fipronil prior to BASF acquiring the molecule in March of 2003. From the acquisition until December of 2007, Holmes managed the molecule behind the pest control industry’s game-changer across more than 30 brands in 50 countries. Combined with his work at BASF, Holmes boasts more than two decades of broad, global agrochemical experience with a number of companies including Bayer CropScience, Aventis CropScience and Rhône-Poulenc Ag Company.
“I am excited and challenged to return to Research Triangle Park to begin this new position,” said Holmes. “The Professional Pest Control group is extremely important to BASF, both within the Specialty Products Department and on a global scale, and I see great opportunities to grow and protect it.”
Holmes returns from an overseas assignment as the Director of Marketing for BASF Agro SAS in Lyon, France. He will join the BASF Specialty Products Department in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.
