KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Nisus Corporation is proud to announce that JDRF has selected Nisus President/CEO Kevin L Kirkland and his wife Carolyn Kirkland as co-presidents of the JDRF Board in Knoxville, TN. JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
TD1 can strike both adults and children without warning. It has nothing to do with lifestyle or diet, and as yet there is no cure.
The Kirklands are strong supporters of JDRF’s mission to improve lives by accelerating breakthroughs for the cure, treatment and prevention of T1D and it many complications. They know firsthand through their son Ethan, who lives with the disease. As a result, Kevin and Carolyn have been actively involved with JDRF for years.
Today, at least 1.6 million Americans are living with this devastating disease. JDRF leads the fight against T1D by funding research, advocating for policies that accelerate access to new therapies, and providing a support network for millions of people around the world impacted by T1D.
