Speaker: Cicada expert Dr. Gene Kritsky is Professor of Biology and Dean of the School of Behavioral and Natural Sciences at Mount St. Joseph University. He is a native of North Dakota and has been teaching at the college level for over 40 years, lecturing on various subjects including entomology, evolution, zoology, general biology, paleobiology, and the history of science. He was named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in 1996 and elected as a Fellow of the Entomological Society of America in 2019. His research has attracted national attention with appearances on the ABC Evening News, CBS Evening News, the Today Show, CBS Sunday Morning, and CNN Science News.
