LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles City Council committee delayed discussions Wednesday on whether to prohibit city departments from using four anticoagulant rodenticides at golf courses, parks and facilities within two miles of mountain regions, the Daily News reported.
The council's Environmental Quality and Waste Management Committee put off the matter until a later meeting.
The rodenticides, prevent blood clotting and slowly kill mice, rats, and gophers by causing them to bleed to death internally. Some beleive these products are responsible for the deaths of at least two mountain lions in the area.
