Liberty Pest Control
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Liberty Pest Control, Brooklyn, N.Y., announced that the company is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Founded in 1996 by Richard “Rich” Cappa, Liberty Pest Control began as a one-man operation ran directly out of Cappa's vehicle.
Today, Liberty Pest Control performs over 15,000 services every month across commercial, institutional and hospitality sectors.
“When I started Liberty 30 years ago, it was just me, my vehicle and a belief that if you take care of customers and do honest work, everything else will follow,” said Cappa, president of Liberty Pest Control. “I never imagined how far we would grow, but I always believed in the people and the culture we were building.”
Liberty Pest Control said its continued growth has been shaped by strong leadership and strategic partnerships. The collaboration between Rich Cappa and Joe Temperino marked a pivotal chapter in the company’s evolution.
“Liberty’s success comes down to culture and accountability,” said Joe Temperino, partner, Liberty Pest Control. “We built this company by investing in people, staying disciplined and never losing sight of what made Liberty special from day one.
At the heart of Liberty Pest Control is its team, the company said. Liberty Pest Control credits its success to the dedication of employees across all departments — from service and operations, to field technicians, to billing, administration and support staff.
“Every service ticket, every client relationship, every successful day comes down to teamwork,” said Temperino. "Our technicians, office staff and service teams are the backbone of this company. Liberty doesn’t work without them.”
Over the years, Liberty Pest Control said the company has learned that true success is measured not only by growth, but also by impact. Alex Dallas, technology & operations leader, Liberty Pest Control, has been working to modernize pest management by incorporating artificial intelligence into daily operations, the company said.
Dallas has led the integration of AI-driven tools that streamline daily tasks, enhance reporting accuracy, optimize routing and service efficiency, and provide technicians with real-time support in the field, according to Liberty Pest Control.
“Technology should make people better at what they do — not replace them,” said Dallas. “By integrating AI into our daily workflows, we’re giving our technicians better tools, better information, and more time to focus on quality service and customer relationships.”
The company also said it has prioritized giving back to the communities it serves — whether by supporting local initiatives, mentoring individuals or providing career opportunities to those looking for a second chance or a fresh start.
“As we grew, we realized we had a responsibility to do more,” said Cappa. “Giving people an opportunity — whether it’s a job, mentorship or stability — has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey."
"Thirty years is a milestone we’re proud of,” said Temperino. “But what truly matters is where we’re going next — continuing to innovate, support our people and raise the standard for our industry.”
