LIPCA Insurance Agency Announces New Board Members and Officers

LIPCA Board of Directors elected board members and officers following the announcement of the retirement of current and founding President René Bourgeois, effective Jan. 1, 2008.

BATON ROUGE, La. — In actions taken at their Oct. 24th Board meeting, the LIPCA Board of Directors elected board members and officers following the announcement of the retirement of current and founding President Rene’ Bourgeois, effective Jan. 1, 2008.

Following his retirement announcement, Bourgeois was elected President Emeritus in honor of his service and foresight in founding and expanding LIPCA. Daniel Bourgeois of Mr. B Services, New Orleans, was elected to fill the unexpired term of Rene’ Bourgeois as a member of the LIPCA Board of Directors, effective Jan. 1, 2008.

Doug MacPherson of Dugas Pest Control, Baton Rouge, current and founding LIPCA secretary/treasurer, was elected president of LIPCA, effective Jan. 1, 2008. Vickie Langwell, current assistant secretary/treasurer, was elected to replace MacPherson as secretary/treasurer. Langwell, with LIPCA since 2001, has 17 years of experience in several areas of accounting for a large restaurant company and holds a business degree in accounting from Baton Rouge School of Computers.

Gary Wehlen of E & G Pest Control, New Orleans, was elected to fill the current unexpired term of Joe Azzarello. Azzarello, of Dial One Franklynn, Metairie, resigned from the LIPCA Board in June of 2007.

The board member and officer elections follow the appointment of Andy McGinty as LIPCA executive vice president/chief operating officer in December 2006; McGinty previously served as the LIPCA vice president of risk management and has been with the company since 1991.

LIPCA President-elect MacPherson stated that, “these changes will only enhance our operations and we will continue to become the premier pest control insurance supplier in the U.S.”
