The Aegis-RP’s enhancements, combined with the station’s original design, offer pest management professionals (PMPs) an economical and highly effective means to gain control of rodent populations. Al Smith, Liphatech’s director of marketing and business development, said the Aegis-RP has gained popularity among leading PMPs since it was first introduced in 2004 based on the station’s innovative layout, unique profile, and flexible design. Yet Smith said Liphatech continuously listens to PMPs and uses their input and advice when implementing product improvements.
“Every second counts when it comes to cleaning and servicing bait stations,” Smith said. “With that in mind, we rounded the inside corners of the Aegis-RP to eliminate the potential for debris getting caught in the interior wall and floor joints during station cleaning. Now, a PMP can simply swipe a brush back and forth once and be done with the job. The result is a faster process that gives PMPs that much more of a competitive edge.”
While the rounded corners make cleanout easier, a side benefit is the addition of plastic to the corners, which has further increased the superior integrity of the station’s platform/floor. The end result is a structurally more robust station designed to withstand the rigors of virtually any application.
The new Aegis-RP also features a precautionary statement in Spanish, which is in addition to a statement in English. The statement, which is engraved into the station’s lid, is easily recognizable for added safety. Additionally, the Aegis-RP brand name is more prominently displayed, making the station more easily identifiable. Popular features found on the Aegis-RP as originally engineered include:
- A see-through interior that allows rodents to “see the exit before entry”, as well as convenient, “stay-on-the runway” design. Both features make the Aegis-RP an accepted part of the rodent’s environment, which increases the likelihood that rodents will explore the station.
- A simple feeding chamber requires less travel to the bait, which contributes to optimum bait consumption.
- Narrower design permits flexible on-edge, vertical mounting for tight locations and in rafters for roof rats. Recessed locks are also less susceptible to clogging by snow when mounted in a vertical position.
- An exclusive design that opens the station away from the wall, giving PMPs the ability to use the lid as a writing surface and/or data storage area.
- Rotating hinges extend the service life of the station, thereby reducing replacement costs.
