About "Poisoned Justice"
Editor's note: Here's a synopsis of "Poisoned Justice," the new novel penned by University of Wyoming professor Dr. Jeffrey Lockwood.
When an activist ecology professor is found dead in his hotel room, the police chalk it up to natural causes, but his widow suspects murder. She needs someone to operate in the grimy parts of San Francisco. Enter Riley, a police detective whose career was cut short when do-gooders saw him beat information out of a child kidnapper. Now running his father’s pest control business, Riley pursues two-legged vermin on the side. The death scene suggests something’s amiss to a man who knows insects. Riley learns that the victim had a costly plan to take down the pesticide industry. And the professor’s need for cash put him on a collision course with a brutal drug lord. When Riley discovers a twisted connection between his brother’s poisoning and the professor’s death, extermination is in order. But he’ll need the help of an intoxicating South African beauty.
