Long Island PCO Wins PCT Sweepstakes

CLEVELAND — PCT announces that Jim Hearne, owner of Floral Park, N.Y.-based Hearne Pest Control, is the winner of the PCT November Sweepstakes.

P.E.P.S. pants, apparel specially designed for pest management professionals.

Hearne wins three pair of P.E.P.S. pants, apparel specially designed for pest management professionals to make servicing accounts more efficient. Hearne’s name was randomly drawn from a pool of PCT Online users who entered the sweepstakes, which ran throughout the month of November.

Hearne Pest Control has been in business for about one year and services Long Island/Greater New York City. “It was something I had been thinking about for years — getting out on my own and being able to do things my way,” he said.

The company services mostly commercial accounts and Hearne said carpenter ant control has been one of his niche offerings. Jim Hearne employs two service technicians and is looking to add more as the company grows.

Prior to starting his own company, Hearne spent 15 years working for various New York-area pest control companies, in several capacities including as a termite technician and a lead general pest control technician.
