QUEBEC CITY– With gross revenues of nearly $30 million in 2023, Maheu&Maheu is the second largest Canadian-owned pest management company in the country and is ranked 35th on PCT'S 2024 Top 100 list.
The company, which has now been in business more than 90 years, reflected on recent company developments.
Sharing Expertise Overseas. Throughout the years, Maheu&Maheu's history in eco-sensitive approaches has extended far beyond the borders of North America and Canada, as their experts have been called upon to share their knowledge in England, Germany and Japan.
New Offices. The Quebec/Chaudière-Appalaches regional office, whose size was becoming too large, was split into two distinct offices whose border is the St. Lawrence River. The same move was made in the greater Montreal region in 2022 to create the regional offices of Montreal South Shore and Montreal North Shore.
Leadership Transition. The eldest of the third-generation, Michel Maheu, who has nearly 45 years with the company, passed the torch of general management to his cousin Louis-Philippe Maheu, who was director of finance and operations. A position of director of operations was created to ease the burden on Louis-Philippe and to support the numerous regional directors who have recently taken office. This position has been occupied by Sébastien Maheux since January 1.
Despite recent changes, the company remains family-owned. Fifty-two members of three generations of the Maheu family and 108 employee-shareholders own the company. Today, Maheu&Maheu operates eight regional offices located in London in Ontario, Boucherville, Terrebonne, Saint-Léonard d'Aston, Quebec where their head office is based, Sainte-Marie, Rimouski and Moncton in New Brunswick, thus covering a vast territory.
