NEPTUNE, N.J. — Marathon Data Systems announced significant growth in 2014, increasing core recurring revenue and staff by over 30 percent, while adding 1,053 new customers.
“Marathon Data Systems’ strong 2014 was fueled by continued demand for our software solutions that help businesses manage and optimize their workforce and operations more efficiently,” said Chris Sullens, CEO of Marathon Data Systems. “Maintaining a strong dedication to customers remains our top priority, and expanding and nurturing the team of incredible people at Marathon enables us to provide unmatched services to customers while simultaneously scaling our own business to excel during rapid growth.”
Building on a year-over-year trend, Marathon increased staff from 114 employees to 148 over the course of 2014 and expects to add over 40 net new jobs in 2015. Marathon capped off a great year with significant growth across its three business segments of field service software, “last mile” transportation and logistics software and marketing services solutions with an expectation for even faster growth in each of these segments in 2015.
After receiving up to $3.2 million that included a bonus for relocating to Neptune, Marathon Data Systems met its mandated job-generation requirements of the Grow N.J. award in just one year, two years ahead of schedule.
Marathon and CEO Chris Sullens also earned several awards in 2014, including placement on the NJBiz list of best places to work and the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growth companies, both for the fourth year in a row, and were also honored, for the second year in a row, as a winner of the Smart CEO 2015 Future 50 Awards, an award recognizing 50 fast-growth, mid-sized companies that have displayed consistent growth over the last three years.
