Marathon Data Systems Adopts Element’s Hosted Payment Solution

Element Payment Services announced that Marathon Data Systems has adopted Hosted Payments, a payment processing solution.

PHOENIX – Element Payment Services announced that Marathon Data Systems has adopted Hosted Payments, the first payment processing solution to take software providers out-of-scope for PA-DSS (PABP) compliance requirements.

Marathon Data Systems, the developer of pest control software solutions for pest control companies, integrated Element’s Hosted Payments solution with their PestPac software. “With Hosted Payments, Element’s PCI DSS Express Processing Platform handles all of the sensitive cardholder data needed to perform a payment transaction while PestPac collects all of the non-sensitive data. Since the software application never touches the sensitive data, PA-DSS requirements no longer apply,” says Sean Kramer, CEO of Element.

Jason Kochel, CTO at Marathon Data Systems, said his decision to adopt Hosted Payments was a result of Visa’s recent compliance mandates that require newly boarded level 3 and level 4 merchants to either be PCI DSS compliant or use of PA-DSS (PABP), compliant software. “Meeting industry compliance standards is not an option for us; it's a requirement,” Kochel said.

"By integrating Element’s Express platform through Hosted Payments, we were able to avoid the PA-DSS validation process,” he said.

Element developed Hosted Payments for software application vendors that sell, distribute or license applications that facilitate electronic payments to offer an alternative to PA-DSS (PABP) validation. Alternatively, for software providers who have had their applications PA-DSS (PABP) validated, Element also offers solutions which eliminate third-party software.
