ORLANDO, Fla. — Pest management and lawn care professionals will have the opportunity to listen to a keynote address by Marty Grunder at the Florida Pest and Lawn Care Expo scheduled for Jan. 7-9 in Orlando.
Grunder is president and CEO of Grunder Landscaping Co. in Dayton, Ohio. Grunder Landscaping was started in 1984 with a $25 mower bought at a garage sale as a way to make money for college. In his senior year at the University of Dayton, Grunder’s company grossed more than $300,000 and his story appeared in The New York Times. Today Grunder Landscaping is an award-winning company that employs more than 40 professionals with annual sales over $4.5 million.
A two-time young entrepreneur of the year in the State of Ohio, Grunder was also named Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the entire Midwest by the Small Business Administration.
In 1995 he formed Marty Grunder! Inc., a business consulting company that offers speaking engagements, training and consulting services to entrepreneurs and business leaders. Not only is Grunder a highly sought after speaker and authority on personal and business success, his book The Nine Super Simple Steps to Entrepreneurial Success was named the Business Book of the year at the 2003 Independent Publisher Book Awards.
Pest management and lawn care professionals at the show also will have an opportunity to participate in hands-on demonstrations at the Product Field day and talk one-on-one with suppliers and manufacturers at the trade show.
“Given the current economy and business climate, pest management and lawn care professionals really can’t afford to miss this program,” said Allen Fugler Jr., FPMA executive vice president..
In addition to ten hours of continuing education classes, management sessions will focus on profitability, controlling transportation costs, navigating the current economic crisis and positioning your company for the future.
After two information-packed days, the traditional Thursday-night cookout and a Friday golf tournament will give hardworking pest management and lawn care pros a chance to relax.
Ten percent of the proceeds from this year’s golf outing will benefit the Give Kids The World Village, a non-profit resort providing a week-long, cost-free, fantasy vacation to the Central Florida attractions for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families, including accommodations, donated attractions tickets, meals and more.
