Massey Services Disinfects Orlando Football Stadiums Prior to Bowl Games

Prior to the recent Cheez-It Bowl and Vrbo Citrus Bowl games, Massey Services performed disinfecting services to the high-traffic areas at both stadiums.

ORLANDO – Attendees at this year’s Cheez-It Bowl and Vrbo Citrus Bowl enjoyed the action knowing that Camping World Stadium was ready for gameday thanks to a comprehensive health, safety and sanitation plan built in collaboration with local partners including AdventHealth and Massey Services

As part of its reopening protocol, Florida Citrus Sports and Orlando Venues leadership worked closely with AdventHealth physicians to develop guidelines intended to keep participants, fans, volunteers and staff protected at the facility, which recently received Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR Facility Accreditation – the ‘gold standard’ for safe facilities.

Proven, effective protocols will be place from entry to exit, including the continued use facial coverings when not eating or drinking, proper physical distancing and encouraged hand sanitization, with touchless sanitizing stations easily accessible throughout the facility.

“We’re honored to work with Florida Citrus Sports and the Camping World Stadium teams to ensure they have measures in place that follow federal health standards and are designed to help keep athletes and fans safe,” said Dr. Tim Hendrix, medical director of AdventHealth Centra Care. “I encourage everyone to continue to wear masks, and practice social distancing and good hand-hygiene so we can help keep our entire community safe.”

As part of an enhanced stadium cleaning, Massey Services completed its disinfecting service to the building’s high-traffic areas earlier this month, using its BioAssured process to treat indoor spaces and other high-touchpoint surfaces ranging from elevator buttons to escalator handrails over the course of several days. This treatment also extended to operational spaces, including on-site locker rooms and other team facilities.

"Massey’s disinfecting service provides long-lasting protection of surfaces without the need for additional treatment between games," said Tony Massey, president of Massey Services and a former Florida Citrus Sports president and current board member. "We're proud to provide this service as we work to help partners like FCS reopen for business and do so safely."

Certified Massey Services Team Members applied the proprietary treatment to these spaces and others throughout Camping World Stadium, disinfecting surfaces using a two-step process that eliminates and neutralizes bacteria and prevents new microorganisms from growing for up to 30 days. More information on this process can be found online at bigtime.games/massey.
“We’re fortunate to have longtime partners like Massey and AdventHealth on our sideline during unique and challenging seasons like this,” Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan said. “Both organizations have gone above and beyond to ensure that we can host these incredible events safely. We’re proud to call them teammates and we’re lucky to have them playing such an important role on behalf of our community.”
