Massey Services Appoints COO; Announces Promotions

Massey Services announced several promotions within its management and executive team, including the appointment of Tony Massey to the position of executive vice president, chief operating officer.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Harvey L. Massey, president and CEO of Massey Services, Inc., announces the appointment of Anthony (Tony) Massey to the position of executive vice president, chief operating officer.

Prior to this appointment, Tony Massey served as executive vice president for the consumer services division for Massey Services. In his new role, he will oversee all company operations, including residential and commercial pest prevention, termite protection and landscape services.

Tony Massey “recently celebrated his 15th year with Massey Services, and has repeatedly taken on key responsibilities in significant areas of the business. He has done a consistently outstanding job. Considering our company’s performance, this promotion is well deserved,” said Harvey Massey.

Tony Massey, 38, is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Corporate Finance and Investment Management. During his fifteen years with Massey Services, he has served in virtually every operational capacity, from service technician to service center general manager, regional manager and now to the position of chief operating officer of Massey Services.

“Our company has enjoyed twenty years of uninterrupted growth since being purchased back in February 1985,” said Tony Massey. “We have a terrific team of people in Florida and Georgia and are poised for our best year ever in 2005. I’m honored by this recognition and the confidence being shown in me.”

In addition, Massey Services announced several other promotions within its management and executive team.

Ed Dougherty has been promoted from regional manager for the company’s Central Region to the position of vice president.  In his new role he will oversee operations for the Central Region, the Atlanta Region and the company’s Villages Division.
            
“Ed Dougherty continues to demonstrate the leadership and people skills that are necessary to succeed in our organization. With over 12 years with our company, this appointment is truly well deserved,” said Harvey Massey.

Bill Joyce has been promoted from general manager for The Villages Pest Prevention Service Center to division manager for the newly created Villages Division. Business in the Villages has been extremely successful and the division has expanded.  Bill Joyce, has been with Massey Services for 14 years and will be responsible for all service offerings to residents and businesses in The Villages, including: pest prevention and termite protection, GreenUP Landscape Services, New Construction and PrevenTech Commercial Services. 

Mark White, currently regional manager for the company’s GreenUP Central Region, has assumed operational management responsibilities for all of Massey’s GreenUP Service Centers in Florida. White joined the company in 2002 as Director of Sales.
