Massey Services Honored by EarthWeb Foundation

Andrea Massey-Farrell, daugther of Harvey Massey, accepts the “Man of the Year” award from Dr. Oswald Saavedra, founder of the EarthWeb Foundation. Mr. Massey was recognized for his commitment to community philanthropy, environmental leadership & education.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Harvey L. Massey, chairman and CEO of Massey Services, has been named "Man of the Year" by the EarthWeb Foundation. The award honors Mr. Massey’s lifetime commitment to community philanthropy, environmental leadership and education. The award was announced at the 12th annual Earth Day Expo on April 25, 2009, held at Winnie Palmer Hospital.

“I am honored to be recognized by the EarthWeb Foundation,” Massey said. “Massey Services has been dedicated to providing environmentally responsible services for 25 years. It is an intrinsic value of ours to promote the growth and well-being of our community, our industry and the protection of our environment for generations to come.”

A 45-year veteran of the pest management and landscape services industry, Harvey Massey has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Board of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) where he was able to make a positive difference. Mr. Massey pioneered the concept of pest prevention and was an early adaptor of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in the early 1990s. Through these initiatives he worked to create and promote a healthier environment for Florida residents.
