RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Bayer Environmental Science’s Maxforce FC Magnum Roach Killer Bait Gel and Maxforce Fly Spot Bait have been registered for use in the state of Hawaii.
Maxforce FC Magnum Roach Killer Bait Gel does not require consumption by roaches to be effective, the company said. With five times the active ingredient fipronil, cockroaches no longer need to consume the bait to die; they simply need to touch it. In addition, Maxforce FC Magnum also features the Domino Effect, whereby cockroaches contact the active ingredient and live just long enough to share it with other members of the colony where they live and breed, the company said.
Maxforce Fly Spot Bait gives PCOs the opportunity to provide superior fly control in a variety of settings that previously could not be treated with fly baits, including commercial dining rooms, outside homes and around outdoor pet areas. It also can be used in and around agricultural livestock production facilities. The bait can be sprayed or painted onto surfaces, killing flies in 60 seconds or less and providing up to six weeks of control indoors and up to 14 days when applied around the outside of residences or commercial buildings, the company said.
“Both of these new formulations enhance the services PMPs can provide their customers,” said Gordon Morrison, Maxforce insecticides market manager for Bayer.
Maxforce FC Magnum is available in individually packaged 33-gram reservoirs (12 per case), providing 10 percent more bait per reservoir, and is designed for use with the Maxforce Bait Injector. Maxforce Fly Spot Bait comes in two convenient package sizes: 2-ounce packets (50 per case), which make 16 ounces of ready-to-use spray, and a 1-pound plastic bottle (6 per case).
