MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Bill Gullickson, the former CEO and present chairman of Golden Valley-based McLaughlin Gormley King Co., has been honored with a small business award for the second year in a row.
Gullickson won the Small Business Champion of the Year for Minnesota — an award sponsored by the Washington, D.C.-based National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and payment processing company Solveras Inc., which has operations in St. Paul.
Mike Hickey, the state director for the NFIB’s Minnesota chapter, said his group nominated Gullickson again for the award this year because “his accomplishments were so significant.” Gullickson received the same award last year.
Gullickson, whose company has seen four generations of family management since it started in 1902, is an original member and presently the chairman of NFIB/Minnesota’s Leadership Council. He also donated to the federation’s political action committee, and its Young Entrepreneur Foundation.
The NFIB and Solveras have annual Small Business Champion awards in all 50 states.
