BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Michigan Pest Management Association hosted its 79th Annual Winter Meeting at FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek, drawing more than 100 pest management professionals representing 55 companies from across the state.
The event featured 22 industry vendors showcasing the latest products, technologies and services supporting Michigan’s pest control industry. The Winter Meeting provided continuing education opportunities, networking and collaboration among industry leaders focused on protecting public health, property and the environment.
During the meeting, MPMA recognized scholarship recipients Madeline and Cera for their academic excellence and commitment to the pest management industry. This year’s Scholarship Auction raised more than $2,000 to support the MPMA scholarship program. The association also thanked vendors who donated items to benefit the program.
Members elected leadership for the coming year. Steve Alcala of Pronto Pest Management was re-elected president. Jaime Pilbeam of Superior Pest Control was re-elected vice president, and Charles Bellgraph of Aardvark Pest Management was re-elected treasurer. Jason Sullivan of Action WDI Specialists and Andy Peterson of North Shore Pest Control were re-elected to the board. David Driver of Veseris was elected allied board member.
Forshaw served as title sponsor of the event. Featured sponsors included Veseris, Syngenta, R-Pro Partners & Solutions and Liphatech. Presenter sponsors included Target Specialty, Liphatech, Rockwell Labs, Rose Pest Solutions, Syngenta, MMCA and BASF.
“We are thrilled with the turnout and success of this year’s Winter Meeting,” Alcala said. “It was a fantastic opportunity for industry professionals to come together, learn and network.”
