Pestec, headquartered in Sarasota since 1996, offers pest control and lawn care services to both residential and commercial accounts in the Sarasota and Manatee county areas. This family business, operated by owners Robert and Susan Kara, includes five additional employees and produced approximately $720,000 in revenue in 2005.
"Pestec is a great fit for Middleton since Sarasota represents a relatively new market for us,” said Greg Clendenin, president and CEO of Middleton. “We believe that the Pestec acquisition will not only enable us to accelerate our growth, but also carve our position as a viable competitor in this market. We welcome the Pestec team to the Middleton family."
The Pestec staff is also happy with the arrangement. "Over the past five years we have enjoyed zero employee turnover at Pestec,” said Susan Kara. “Since we treat employees like family, it was important for us to find a company that genuinely cared about employees. Middleton was not only willing to provide employee care, but also incorporate into the transition plan action items to accommodate the Pestec culture."
