Minorities in Pest Management to Hold Educational Program at NPMA’s Legislative Day

The National Pest Management Association’s Minorities in Pest Management will host its first-ever educational program on Feb. 27 in Arlington, Va., in conjunction with NPMA’s Legislative Day.

Fairfax, Va. — The National Pest Management Association’s Minorities in Pest Management will host its first-ever educational program on Monday, Feb. 27 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Va., in conjunction with NPMA’s Legislative Day, Feb. 27-28. The program will run from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
 
Modeled after NPMA’s Professional Women in Pest Management, MPM was formed to mentor, promote and help advance minority-owned pest management businesses. The group is committed to encouraging minority owned pest management businesses to join and become involved in NPMA activities.
 
Ericka Dunlap, Miss America 2004, will give the program’s keynote address. During her talk, she will discuss her experiences as Miss America and highlight her Miss America platform “United We Stand, Divided We Fall Behind: Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion."

Also appearing on the program will be the Mayor of Alexandria (Va.) William “Bill” Euille. The owner of a construction company, Mayor Euille will discuss his experiences as a small businessman and local leader, and provide tips on how to become a more effective leader in your community. He’ll also outline strategies for managing difficult situations and building consensus.
