Scott Phillips, president of Blue Chip Pest Services, is the winner of a recent PCT magazine online book giveaway.
Phillips entered the online contest, and his name was drawn randomly from a pool of entries. He wins a copy of Firms of Endearment: How World-Class Companies Profit form Passion and Purpose by Rajendra Sisodia, David Wolfe and Jagdish Sheth.
The book was featured in Tom Wolf’s story Make More Money, Have More Fun in the October 2007 issue of PCT.
The 65 year-old Phillips founded Blue Chip Pest Services, a full-service pest management company based in Fenton, Mo., in 1972. He started in the industry working with his father — a termite inspector — as a salesman.
Fenton is a suburb of St. Louis; Blue Chip covers the eastern half of Missouri and areas of western Illinois.
“Basically (I enjoy) all of it,” Phillips said of the pest management industry. “I’m just passionate about it. I get up every day and enjoy coming to work.”
