WOBURN, Mass. — Modern Pest Services of Woburn, Mass., announced the promotion of Robert D. Hudson from general manager to business development manager. Robert J. Riley replaces Hudson as general manager. Rapid expansion of the Woburn service market, including 25% growth in 2010, has led to the re-structuring of that center’s management team.
Now in his 11th year of employment at Modern Pest Services, Hudson has four licenses in both food and plant pest control and has been in the industry for over 43 years. As business development manager, he will work with large commercial accounts to expand the company’s footprint in several areas including the non-traditional bed bug market by focusing on heat treatment and canine inspection services. In addition, he will work to grow Modern’s termite program as well as seek out new regional and national business opportunities through the company’s affiliation with Copesan.
Modern’s newest hire, Riley, will oversee day-to-day operations in their Woburn office which services commercial and residential clients throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He will manage 17 technicians, two service managers, as well as support three sales people to help foster Modern’s long-term growth in that region and beyond. In addition to his twenty-plus years working as a manager in the service sector, Riley holds an undergraduate degree in business management with concentrations in mnagement information systems from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and has years of leadership and managerial experience.
