MPCA Awards Pair of Sroka Scholarships

The Maryland State Pest Control Association (MPCA) has selected two recipients for the Doug Sroka Scholarships for 2005. The winners are James T. Bianco and Jordan Paul Bukovsky.

MARYDEL, Md. - The Maryland State Pest Control Association (MPCA) has selected two recipients for the Doug Sroka Scholarships for 2005. The winners are James T. Bianco and Jordan Paul Bukovsky. Each winner receives a $500.00 scholarship check.

Mr. James T. Bianco is from Chestertown, Md. He was sponsored by Dependable Pest Control Co., Inc, Chestertown, Md. Bianco, a graduate of the Queen Anne’s County High School, has been accepted for admission to York College, York, Pa.

Bukovsky is a graduate of Fallston High School . He was sponsored by Terminix International and has been accepted for admission to Salisbury University, Salisbury, Md .

The scholarships are open to children and employees of member companies.. The scholarship is named after the late Doug Sroka, who was a member of the MPCA Board of Directors at the time of his death. Since 2002, 10 scholarship awards totaling $5,000 have been given.

The prime source of funding for the scholarship comes from the Annual MPCA Golf Event held in the Fall of each year. This year, the event will be held on September 7, 2005 at the Timbers of Troy Golf Course, Elkridge, MD.
