The concentration of the active ingredient, nicarbazin, in OvoControl āGā has been increased from 0.25% to 0.5%. With the new formulation, the application rate is reduced to just one ounce/goose/day. The new concentration allows for quicker application, decreases the risk for non-targets and reduces the cost by roughly 50%.
The core technology for OvoControl centers on the ability to block the hatchability of eggs by feeding treated bait to birds during the reproductive season. The contraceptive effect is fully reversible and care has been taken to develop a feeding system.
