As PCOs welcomed in 2008, the following question was top of mind for many PCOs, especially those involved in termite work: “When will the slumping housing market turn around?”

The downtrodden housing market and its impact on the termite market is such a hot topic that PCT decided to make it our January cover story, “Housing Horrors.”

PCT interviewed representatives from the real estate industry as well as leading PCOs to learn how they are coping with this challenge.

Included within this story are several charts based on results from a December 2007 survey about the impact of the housing market on the pest management industry that was sent to a random sampling of PCT subscribers.

Watch for the January issue of PCT, which takes an in-depth look at how the housing market is affecting PCOs.

Included within PCT’s January cover story “Housing Horrors” are several charts (including the above chart) about challenges the pest control industry is facing due to the slumping housing market. In December, PCT magazine distributed a survey about the impact of the housing market on the pest management industry to a random sampling of our readers via InsightExpress, a third-party, online marketing research firm. We received 223 responses to the online survey, which is accurate at +/- 3.9% at an 80% confidence level. The results of the survey are featured above and throughout the story.
