The trap body consists of a PVC cylinder six inches in diameter and 23 inches long. The trap door opens outward for an overall length of 30 inches when the trap is set. A knob on the end of the trip-rod slides easily into place through an aperture in the door. Captured skunks can become agitated easily, but when enclosed in a dark, cave-like container they are soothed into a sense of security.
