New York Approves Termidor NY for Outdoor Ant Control

BASF announced that the product label approving usage of Termidor NY for outdoor control of ants has been accepted by the state of New York.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – BASF today announced that the product label approving usage of Termidor® NY for outdoor control of ants has been accepted by the state of New York. This approval marks the first time this low-dose insecticide is available for use by pest professionals in the state of New York.

“We have worked diligently with the state regulatory board of New York and are pleased to introduce Termidor for the first time to our New York Partners,” said BASF Business Manager William Baxter. “The approval provides PMPs the opportunity to work with the Inside-Out program, utilizing Termidor for nonrepellent ant control outside, and Phantom® termiticide-insecticide for nonrepellent ant, cockroach and nuisance pest control inside. Now PMPs have two products that offer effective control of these pests wherever they face them.”

Even with outdoor perimeter applications at the low rate of 0.06% active ingredient, Termidor provides long residual control of many nuisance ant species, including Carpenter, Argentine, Big Headed, Odorous House and Pavement ants, BASF reports.

“PMPs across the country have experienced great success with Termidor, and we hope to duplicate that success in New York,” Baxter said. “PMPs and homeowners in New York can now trust Termidor to deliver unmatched ant control on a variety of ants in a range of environmental conditions. And PMPs can expect yearlong pest ant control while providing only two Termidor applications per site per year.”

Termidor is a nonrepellent and works to control ants by either contact or ingestion.
