The Knoxville News-Sentinel profiled Nisus Corp in an article titled "Green investment pays off for Rockford company."
The article notes that Nisus Corp. has received a commitment from Norfolk Southern, one of the largest railroads in the country, to use copper naphthenate, a wood preservative used in pressure treated railroad ties, telephone poles and bridge timbers.
Nisus decided last year to build a 10,000-square-foot factory and hire up to 28 new employees to produce and market copper naphthenate after Environmental Protection Agency action led other suppliers of the chemical to leave the market.
