KINGSFORD, Mich. — The Nelson Paint Company introduces Deter-it HEAT balls, an animal deterrent made for slingshots and paintball guns. Deter-it HEAT balls, when broken, release a 1.5 Million Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) repellent into an aerosol cloud which causes irritation to the mucous membranes of animals. The clear, biodegradable, non-toxic liquid delivers an unpleasant experience without penetration or serious injury to nuisance or threatening animals.
Deter-it HEAT has a shell design that maximizes the kinetic energy delivered to negatively reinforce behavior in people or the continued presence of unwanted animals without penetration or serious injury. Deter-it fill will not stain and will wash away. Rick Louys, President of Nelson Paint notes, “Either product has applications for fish and wildlife agencies, police departments, the military, general crowd control uses and animal control agencies.”
“Deter-it HEAT has been extremely useful for institutions and agencies that need a humane method of behavioral deterrence such as law enforcement agencies, airports and wildlife control agencies,” said Teresa Louys, special projects manager for Nelson Paint.
Deter-it and Deter-it HEAT are available online at www.nelsontechinc.com and at local retailers. It is safe for both residential and commercial use. For more information on these products visit nelsontechinc.com, nelsonpaint.com or call Nelson Paint toll free at 1-800-236-9278.
