NPMA and Hotel Association to Offer Bed Bug Symposium

The National Pest Management Association and the American Hotel & Lodging Association are partnering to present a one-day International Bed Bug Symposium, Sept. 12, in Herndon, Va.

FAIRFAX, Va. — The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) and the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) announce that have partnered to present a one-day International Bed Bug Symposium, Sept. 12, 2006 at the Hilton Washington Dulles Hotel in Herndon, Va.

Sponsored by NPMA members Orkin, Rentokil, Terminix International, and The Steritech Group, Inc., this educational symposium is designed to raise awareness and inform existing and potential commercial pest management customers how to deal with the difficult issue of bed bugs.

From identifying bed bugs to inspection techniques to the public affairs issues and the legal ramifications, the International Bed Bug Symposium will provide management tips, both preventative and corrective, to help attendees make informed decisions and stay out of the newspaper and the courtroom.

NPMA has recruited the experts in the industry, including nationally recognized researcher Dr. Mike Potter from University of Kentucky; Dr. Jerome Goddard, a medical entomologist; Laura Krueger from the California Department of Health; and Timothy Wenk, Esq., an attorney who has recently been involved in bed bug litigation.

Who should attend? Hoteliers, public health and public housing employees, property managers, college dormitory supervisors, cruise ship administrators, furniture rental facilities, hospital administrators, and anyone working with housing the general public.
