NPMA Announces Plans to Celebrate National Pest Management Month

This year's initiative, titled Pathways to Pest Professions, is designed to generate career interest in the pest management industry among students.

FAIRFAX, Va. – Whether it’s ants, termites, spiders, fleas, bed bugs, or rodents, pest professionals help stop these pests from causing illness, destroying homes and property and contaminating food. The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) is proud to announce April as National Pest Management Month, a month designed to recognize the pest management industry’s contribution to society in protecting food, health, property and the environment from the harm and destruction of pests and the safe use of pest management materials.

Cindy Mannes, vice president of public affairs for NPMA said, “Working in an industry that is constantly evolving and combating different pests each year is a challenge. National Pest Management Month is a chance to recognize and say thank you for the hard work that pest professionals do day in and day out.”

Each year an industry wide initiative is executed in honor of National Pest Management Month in an effort to reach out to the public and raise awareness of the industry’s contribution to society. This year the initiative is titled Pathways to Pest Professions and is designed to generate career interest in the pest management industry among students.

“Many students are unaware of the diverse and exciting opportunities available in the professional pest management industry. With so many career options for today’s students we hope Pathways to Pest Professions will educate students and allow them to add another option to their list,” said Mannes.
