The groundbreaking ceremony occurred on the building site which has been an empty lot until now. The two-story red brick colonial is expected to be completed in December 2007. The 10,000 square foot headquarters office is located on North Street and part of the revitalization efforts of historic Fairfax City. The new office space will accommodate the association’s 20 employees with room for growth.
Among the attendees on hand were NPMA President Steve Scherzinger of Scherzinger Pest Control, Immediate Past President Phil Augustine of Augustine Exterminators, Inc., President-Elect Bernie Holst, Jr. of Horizon Termite and Pest Control, Treasurer Mike Rottler of Rottler Pest Control & Lawn Service, Secretary Bruce Carter of Carter Services, Inc., and NPMA Executive Director Rob Lederer.
“NPMA is proud to be part of the increasing vitality of the downtown Fairfax business community while honoring the historic nature of the city and incorporating the Colonial Virginia look similar to historic buildings in the area,” said Rob Lederer, executive vice president of NPMA.
Financing for the building was obtained through the sale of NPMA’s old office building in Dunn Loring, Va., which was sold at the height of the Washington, D.C. real estate market.
While the building is under construction, NPMA has been leasing space at 9300 Lee Highway, Suite 301 in Fairfax, Virginia.
